ABOUT WIDGETBOX

Widgetbox helps people express, connect, create, and inform using widgets, made and shared on an open platform. We operate the largest distributed marketplace for widgets on the web, extending from our hub (www.widgetbox.com) to more than 125,000 domains. We serve two communities: developers and consumers. Our products and services enable thousands of widget developers to reach millions of consumers, who in turn spread widgets to their friends and colleagues. We believe that the widgetized web is transferring power – content, traffic, control, however you want to measure it – from the few to the many individuals and communities online.

Values. The company operates on a few basic principles that reflect our values.
Specifically, we will –
• Treat others as we want to be treated
• Open up new opportunities and frontiers on the web
• Help outsiders and underdogs win
• Succeed when our community succeeds
• Enable fun through discovery

Strategy and products. Widgetbox serves the developer and consumer communities three ways. First, we offer the best widget creation studio available. It’s an open platform that allows anyone to create great widgets that work anywhere. Our studio offers tools and features to help developers achieve and measure success on their own terms on practically any site online. For some, that means getting maximum reach. For others, it might mean making money. We offer tools to do both.

Second, we offer the definitive library of web widgets on our marketplace hub at www.widgetbox.com. Our marketplace allows widget end users to search, discover, and install great widgets all in one place.
Third, we support the best in-the-wild distribution on the web. This means that, in addition to using widgetbox.com, users can get widgets anywhere a Widgetbox widget is installed. That turns more than 125,000 domains into distribution points for Widgetbox and our developers – a powerful advantage in the widget web where great content is no longer tied to specific URLs.
